BOWLS: It was prizes galore for Blackhill bowling club senior's team as they walked off with the W.K Wilson Cup in a close final at Tollcross.

The team, consisting of Frank Geary, Charlie Spiers, John Paterson, Bob Morrison, Pat Wiesman and Harry Simister, beat Mount Vernon 14-12 for their first success in the competition.

RUGBY: Glasgow Hawks' losing streak continued in devastating fashion as they crashed to a 73-10 thrashing at Boroughmuir.

The Edinburgh men ran in 11 tries, leaving Hawks rooted at the bottom of Division One.

RUGBY: GHA faired better in the capital as they kept up their promotion bid with a superb 19-10 win at Stewart's Melville FP.

In Division Three, both Cartha QP and Hillhead/Jordanhill won respectively.
