WARRIORS ace Max Evans made his comeback for Glasgow Hawks last week and issued a message to boss Sean Lineen - "I'm available if you need me".
Evans has been out of action these past six months with a knee injury but was farmed out to Hawks to help Peter Wright's men to a 21-17 win over Boroughmuir.
Although he admits to being a bit rusty, given the current injury-crisis at the Warriors, Evans is ready to jump back into the pro-league scene if needs be.
He said: "I've told Sean I'm available but he makes the final decision and if selected for the Connacht game this week, I'll be ready to play some part.
"I'll admit that my lungs were burning at the end of the Hawks game but if need for the first hour or coming off the bench, I'm sure I could do a job.
"As for Scotland, I think it is safe to say that it will be a surprise if I'm involved in the Autumn tests - although if Andy Robinson wants to invite me along to train with the sqaud I'll be happy to do so.
"It has been frustrating watching on the sidelines but the first big hit I got during the Hawks game was such a relief because strangely enough, you do miss the knocks and tumbles of rugby.
"It was quite nice to get back to where it all started for me in Scotland and ironically enough, my debut for Hawks a few years back was against Boroughmuir - although this time around, my shirt was a bit too big for me even if the wind did add to my pace."
Evans' return to the Warriors would be a welcome boost after a weekend which saw their Heineken Cup campaign reduced to tatters after falling to the Dragons.
The performance and result has seen more fans take to the internet demanding boss Lineen should go but Evans is far from impressed with their views.
He added: "I find such forums a waste of time to be honest.
"They are supposed to allow supporters to voice their opinion which on the surface is fine, but I don't see the point of making derogatory comments as they offer nothing constructive.
"Most of these guys have never played rugby at a high level so what do they know about what goes on? "All of us are frustrated with what happened last week but for a player to see such comments, it is very disappointing."
