It could be in time that Joe Screen will become a Tigers legend but injury will once again keep him out of the side for the Scottish Cup weekend with Edinburgh. Mark Lemon of Newcastle will come in as a guest for the trip to Armadale on Friday while the man who has been selected to take his place on Sunday is none other than one rider who is already a Tigers legend in the shape of Shane Parker. The 6 year veteran of Glasgow Speedway moved on to Somerset at the end of last season and has been in fine form in recent weeks and the Tigers management decided to utilise his services for the second leg at Ashfield on Sunday and "Parks" was more than delighted to take up the call. Co-Promoter Alan Dick admitted that the 40 year old popular Aussie has still got the ability to score well against Edinburgh in this vital Cup tie:
"It is our last chance of winning some silverware and we will be giving it our all to come away with something. We could and perhaps should have won the Spring Trophy early on in the season but we failed to overturn a 6 point deficit and that perhaps was to set the scene for the rest of the season.
Obviously it is a blow not to have Joe with us for this weekend but I don't think many will disagree that Shane is a more than adequate replacement as his record at Ashfield is second to none. He has already looked pretty sharp here this season when he came with Somerset and we hope that he can help us with the results that we need to get our hands on the trophy. We have only had one success in recent seasons and it is a trophy that means a lot to supporters, in fact in previous years it was for some the highlight of the season. So our aim is clear, keep things tight at Armadale and give ourselves a chance to finish a most disappointing season in a blaze of glory."
