Leighton Burtt
WEST OF SCOTLAND'S overseas professional Leighton Burtt has left the club after losing his injury battle.
The Kiwi fast bowler pulled a hamstring at the start of the season which was followed by an ingrowing toenail that went septic.
He then suffered damage to his achilles tendon before the coup de grace happened when taking a junior coaching session, he misfielded a lobbed cricket ball which cracked his nose and blackened his eye.
Meanwhile, rain put paid to last Saturday's league card with only West being involved in some play when they had Forfarshire on 81 for three before the game was called off following a spell of heavy rain.
Clydesdale were in Scottish Cup quarter-final action but were knocked out by Dunfermline in a five-run loss.
South Side venue Titwood, home of Clydesdale, will be hosting international action next week. Scotland play Bangladesh on Monday, July 19 while the latter take on the Netherlands the following day. Both matches start at 10.45am, and tickets will be available to purchase at the entrance from Dolphin Road, priced at s15 for adults, s10 for OAPs and students, and s7.50 for U18s.
