Ice Hockey: Mitch Maunu arrives to bolster Braehead Clan defence

BRAEHEAD CLAN have signed up defensive rock Mitch Maunu.

The no-nonsense Canadian arrives at the Glasgow club from Lakehead University.

And former Windsor Spitfires skipper Maunu admits he can’t wait to pull on his new colours.

He said: “The prospect of coming to Glasgow and being a part of the Braehead Clan is very exciting.

“I am looking forward to beginning my professional hockey career in Scotland.

“I’m ready to work hard and help the Clan win games and hopefully some titles in the new season.

“I am also very happy that I will be reunited with a friend and former team-mate of mine, Brock McPherson, who has nothing but good things to say about his time in  Glasgow with the Clan.

“Now I’m eager to get the season under way and to play in the EIHL, as well as meeting the Clan fans who I have heard great things about.

“It will be fantastic to work with player-coach Jordan Krestanovich and the other guys on the team. I’m sure we can be successful together.”
