BRAEHEAD CLAN boss Drew Bannister is gearing up for silverware next term after committing himself to the club for another season.
The Canadian player-coach is determined to build on his first term in charge when he guided the team to sixth place in the EIHL and a place in the play-off quarter-finals.
Bannister will try to add to his squad in the coming weeks and is adamant the upcoming campaign can’t arrive soon enough.
He said: “I really enjoyed last season and it was a huge transition to go from player to player/coach.
“Now that I have a year under my belt, I feel more confident about the role and what I am looking for.
“I want to build a squad that can compete with the top teams. I expect my guys to have a winning attitude.
“I will work on bringing in the elements that were missing last season to make us more competitive.”
Bannister also believes the fans will have a big part to play next season and wants to reward their loyalty by giving them something to celebrate.
He said: “We have an amazing fanbase and I’m looking forward to putting out a team they can continue to be proud of.”
