Ice Hockey: Braehead Clan secure D-man Kevin Phillips for another season

BRAEHEAD CLAN No.7 Kevin Phillips is set for a second season with the Glasgow outfit after snubbing a move to Sheffield Steelers.

The popular defenceman had been linked with a move to the EIHL side at the end of Clan's maiden season in the Elite League.

But the 25-year-old, who has spent the past few months playing with Adelaide Adrenalin, will return to Glasgow in time for the new season.

And he is determined to put bums on seats when the campaign finally slides into action.

Phillips said: "I really enjoyed playing with the Clan last season and I am having a good summer season here in Australia. I'm hoping to continue this when I get back to the UK.

"We built up a great support there last season, so it will be good to see how many more Clan fans we can add to the fold."
