EJ Harrison is back at Glasgow for the new season
GLASGOW ROCKS player-coach Sterling Davis believes his side are ready to go onwards and upwards after agreeing terms with Andy Wedemire and captain EJ Harrison for next season.
The Kelvin Hall basketball side are attempting to sign up the bulk of the squad from last term and the news both stars will be staying is a huge boost to the club.
Davis said: “I wanted to focus on bringing back the majority of players from last season so we could build on what we achieved late in the campaign.
“EJ was always my first choice to fill the point-guard position and I am very happy that we were able to sign him for a third time.
“He had a tough 2011-12 campaign but showed great determination and strength of mind to finish off the season the way he did.
“His leadership, experience and work ethic are second to none and I am looking forward to playing with him again.”
Davis also expects Wedemire to have another big season.
He added: “Andy exceeded our expectations last season. The biggest positive we saw in him was his progression and ability to adjust as the season went along.
“He has a lot more to give this league with his talent and we’re glad to have such a quality player and person back in our jersey.”
