Speedway: Glasgow Tigers star James Grieves can't wait to get teeth into Plymouth Devils

GLASGOW TIGERS stalwart James Grieves reckons fans are in for a treat when Plymouth Devils visit Ashfield on Sunday.

Grieves rates his rivalry with former Edinburgh star Ryan Fisher - now with the Devils - as one of the greatest individual rivalries he has encountered.

And he believes the two sides are well matched for what should be a thrilling afternoon's action.

The two teams met earlier in the season in the KO Cup and Grieves - and the Tigers - came out on top on that occasion.

But Scotland's number one, who recently became the second top scorer of all time for the Tigers, says this weekend's clash is too tight to call.

He said: "I am very much looking forward to taking on Ryan again, my pass of him earlier was one of my favourite moments of the season so far, but Ben Barker will be there too and he is not too shabby.

"Robert Ksiezak is not having the best season but coming to the track where he started the season will give him a lift too so I am expecting a tough afternoon. 

"In all honesty we were very poor last week when the pressure was on and we simply have to up our performance by several notches this week. 

"I see that Ryan is listed at number five so we will meet potentially three times in the meeting which is good. 

"He tends to bring out the best in me and I think there is a lot of respect between us so stand back and watch what should be a great meeting.

"I will be very disappointed if we do not come out on top in this fixture, we have to.  Last week was so poor, myself included, and we need to restore some pride and set ourselves up for a better finish to the season."
