GLASGOW WARRIORS new boy Tim Swinson geared up for the new season by taking his bow at a supporters night at Scotsoun Stadium last week.

The 25-year-old arrives with a reputation as one of the most consistent second-rowers in the business and he can’t wait to get into action for Gregor Townsend’s side.

After being voted Newcastle Falcons’ Player of the Season in 2011, Swinson has vowed to hit the ground running at the Warriors.

He said: “I have really enjoyed my first fortnight. We’re being worked hard by the coaches and strength and conditioning staff, but that’s what you expect and need at this stage in the summer.

“The players and staff have been extremely welcoming and I was delighted to have the chance to meet so many fans last week.

“There is a lot of excitement out there about the new stadium, and rightly so, because it’s right up there with anything you’ll see in European rugby.”
