SEAN LINEEN insists securing GlasgowWarriors flying machine DTH van der Merwe on a new two-year-deal willbring the X Factor to his side.
The Canadian international and joint-secondtop try scorer in the Magners League had been linked with a moveelsewhere but has committed his future to the Warriors.
Since arriving in 2009 the 24-year-old hasbecome a firm fans' favourite with scorching displays on both thedomestic and European stage and Lineen is delighted to retain hisservices on the flank.
The manager said: "It's great news for the team and for the supporters.
"He wants to stay which is important and to have an X Factor player like that makes all the difference.
"He's a great weapon to have out on the wing and has a good attitude and is a quality athlete."
After retaining centre Graeme Morrison andbringing Ulster winger Tommy Seymour and Saracens lock Tom Ryder toFirhill, vanderMerwe's deal is subject to his work permit and visabeing extended.
The Canadian star insists loyalty played apart in his decision to stay and said: "It was quite an easy move tomake. Sean Lineen gave me a shot two years ago and now it's time torepay that faith.
"I've enjoyed my time with Glasgow and nowwant to build on what we have here. We've had a bit of a slow seasonthis year but we can only build from here and hopefully over the nextfive games we can start that process for next season.
"A lot of the players here have over 100 appearances for the club and are still only 24 or 25.
"There is a lot of experience despite them being young guys. They will be a key factor for Glasgow in the years to come."
