EASTERHOUSE PANTHERS have been left purring after youngster Chad McGlane sealed a 12-month deal with Superleague side Hull FC.
The Scottish Co-operative Rugby League Conference outfit are delighted at the move which sees the 19-year-old sign a contract at the KC Stadium following a two-week trial.
Panthers boss Mark Senter said: "The club are delighted with the progress Chad has made. Having only picked up a rugby ball at the age of 14, it just shows what can be achieved with some hard work and desire.
"Chad is an inspiration to the young people in the East End and a great role model for others to follow. I'd like to thank Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life and Sportscotland for support and investment in the code, without which none of this would have been possible."
Councillor Frank Docherty said: "The Panthers club are a real part of the East End community.
"They work really hard to promote rugby in the area and I'm pleased to see Chadprogress. It's reflective of the determination the club has shown."
