CALAMITOUS defending cost Queen's Park dear as they were thrashed on their home patch by bogey side Stranraer.
Hampden boss Gardner Speirs was left fuming by his side's display, their second defeat in four days, which dealt a huge blow to their promotion hopes.
A host of errors cost the Spiders and Speirs blasted afterwards: "We made bad mistakes and they took the chances handed to them."
Stuart McColm gave Stranraer the lead on seven minutes when he latched onto a long goal kick and smashed the ball past Peter Hamilton.
Queen's were dealt a blow when captain Richard Sinclair was carried off after a late tackle by Kevin Nicoll.
Scott Agnew's then beat the offside trap to double the visitors' advantage and giant striker Armand One's header made it 3-0 after 36 minutes.
Martin McBride pulled one back for Queen's before half time when he hit a superb dipping shot from 25 yards into the net against his former side.
However, there was to be no Spiders fightback after the break as goals from Danny Mitchell and Agnew again secured the win for Stranraer as Michael Daly headed a second for Queen's.
Stranraer boss Keith Knox hopes the result can help fire his side up the Third Division.
He said: "Hopefully this can get us started on a wee run of victories."
