Lynda Spence murder trial: Law chief Lesley Thomson QC to lead prosecution case

ONE of Scotland’s top law officers will personally prosecute the trial of four men accused of abducting, torturing and murdering missing financial adviser Lynda Spence.

Solicitor General Lesley Thomson QC, who is second in command at the Crown Office, will lead the legal team conducting the case.

Lynda, 28, was last seen leaving her parents’ home in Glasgow Harbour last April 13. Her
body has never been found.

David Parker, 37, Paul Smith, 46, and Philip Wade and Colin Coats, both 41, deny abducting Lynda from Glasgow, torturing her for a fortnight at a house in West Kilbride, Ayshire, and murdering her.

No date has yet been set for the trial, which is expected to last 12 weeks.
