WRESTLING stars Mickie James and Magnus joined hundred of grapple fans at a special party in the city centre last week.

Among them were 20 Glaswegian readers who had won exclusive tickets in our competition.

The party celebrated TNAs hit show, Impact Wrestling, moving to Sunday nights on Challenge TV.

It has been a huge hit and is now the most watched weekly wrestling show on British television.

And Mickie and Magnus took time out of the party at the citys Mansion House to talk to the Glaswegian.

Multiple womens world champion Mickie revealed her most memorable wrestling moment was leaping off the top of a massive cage on to opponent Tara.

Mickie said: "I had never been in a cage match before . When I climbed up during the match, I think the fans thought I was going to climb over and drop down to the other side.

"But when I stopped on the top of the cage, the fans started to get excited and I could feel the cage starting to rumble.

"I'd had knee surgery and that was on my mind as I jumped off on to Tara."

The risk was worth it as the move helped Mickie win the match.

Magnus, who appeared on the recent Gladiators show as Oblivion, said he was delighted to return to Glasgow.

As a wrestler for TNA, Magnus joins a line-up of iconic names including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Kurt Angle.

But he said the highlight of his career with the American company had been the chance to wrestle another icon Sting.

Magnus said: "I've always been able to separate being a wrestler from being a fan apart from the first time I wrestled Sting.

"For a few seconds, I was in the ring and his music hit and all the lights went down and I forgot I was wrestling.

"I just stood there going 'Wow' with a big smile on my face.

"My tag team partner Doug Williams left the ring saying Good luck, mate and I realised 'Oh s**t, Im wrestling now'."
