Fans flock to Susan Boyle booksigning at St Enoch Centre

HUNDREDS of fans queued up to meet singing superstar SuBo as she visited Glasgow to sign copies of her autobiography.

Susan Boyle joked with fans as she attended the book launch at the the WH Smith store in the St. Enoch Centre on Monday afternoon.

She was promoting her book, The Woman I Was Born To Be, which charts her rise from spinster to global superstar. One delighted fan said that she simply wanted to congratulate the 49-year-old I Dreamed A Dream singer on her success.

She said: "I'm just going to shake her hand and say congratulations. I think she's done so well," Another fan added: "She's an inspiration . Your dream can come true if you try hard enough."

As well as taking the time to scribble her autograph on copies of the book, SuBo also said that she was thrilled that "gorgeous" Matt Cardle had won this year's X Factor.

She said: "I'm very glad to be back in Scotland and am spending Christmas with my family here."

Susan's debut album I Dreamed a Dream was the number one best-selling CD on charts around the globe, and her second album e Gift topped the UK and US charts.

She has sung with music legends including Elaine Paige and performed for the Pope in Glasgow .
