Tony Roper goes back to school to help St Mungo's pupils tread the boards

TELEVISION'S Tony Roper was back in the act at his old school last week.

The Rab C Nesbitt and Naked Video star returned to St Mungo's Academy in Calton.

He was there to help out pupils who were being taught a new Curriculum for Excellence in the school's drama department.

The curriculum, introduced to all schools across Scotland in August , encourages children to learn about things in school that are relevant to life outside the classroom.

Tony was happy to give the youngsters a briefing on his career and answer their questions.

And the 69-year-old actor said: "It has been a pleasure to be back at St Mungo's Academy.

"I have enjoyed meeting the pupils and it's exciting to see young people with talent and ambition who have the potential to achieve great success across many different fields.

"There are a few stars in the making at St Mungo's!"
