Britain's biggest TK Maxx store set to arrive in Glasgow for Christmas
THE biggest TK Maxx designer clothes store in Britain is to be opened in Glasgow.
The chain were expected to make their new shop in Argyle Street 50,000 sq ft.
However, bosses have revealed the £30million store will be the biggest in Britain at up to 70,000 sq ft.
The store is a favourite among shopaholics because of its range of designer clothes, shoes, handbags and homewares at bargain prices.
Around 160 temporary workers will be recruited to carry out work on the site.
The building's owners, MAR Properties, confirmed the shop will occupy the basement, ground, first and second floors.
The outlet is expected to open before Christmas time but TK Maxx bosses refused to give further details.
A spokeswoman added: "We continue to explore different retail sites across the UK and can confirm that Glasgow Argyle Street will be one of the largest stores to date, selling famous designer brands with savings of up to 60 per cent.
"It's going to be TK Maxx like you have never seen it before."
