Glasgow Science Centre's IMAX confirmed this week that so far, all 3D Avatar shows at the cinema have completely sold out.

Future screenings have also sold out until next Wednesday and a further 4000 people have pre-booked tickets to the end of the month.

It is the most popular film at the IMAX since it opened in October 2000.

Robert Johnstone, the cinema's chief projectionist, said: "Avatar 3D is on course to be the biggest film released at the IMAX. The demand for tickets is unprecedented.
