Christmas Lights
THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas officially began this week as a spectacular fireworks display marked the city's Christmas lights switch-on.
More than 17,000 people braved the cold in George Square as Lord Provost Bob Winter turned on the colourful lights with Real Radio presenters Robin Galloway and Cat Harvey.
As the lights were switched on, a dazzling display of fireworks was set off from the roof of the City Chambers, lasting 15 minutes.
The cast of Beauty and the Beast performed a selection of songs from the hit musical, which is playing in the SECC throughout December.
