Doctor Who
GET the Doctor! His mortal enemies have invaded Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
But wait. For once the Timelord is not required to save the galaxy because the two iconic monsters from TV's sci-fi series came in peace to the city.
And friendship has no equal than when one of the humanoids teams up with a well-meaning Dalek to announce tickets are now on sale for the galactical Doctor Who Exhibition next March.
Certainly kids from Dowanhill Primary School were Dalek demented at the sight of the famous alien/machine.
Not even the Dr, currently played by Scots actor David Tennant, could prevent this incredible exhibition charging entry fees.
Adult tickets cost s7.50 and children and concessions are priced at s4.50. Service fees will also apply. Family tickets will cost s18 plus the service charge.
Access to the collection at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, as with all the other museums owned and operated on behalf of the city, remains free. The exhibition begins on March 28 2009 and will remain in the Royal Bank of Scotland temporary exhibition space until January 4, 2010.
It's expected the event will attract 200,000 visitors compared with the Kylie clothes exhibition which was seen by 160,000.
Tickets are available from the SECC website: www.SECxtra.com and through their telephone sales line.
Customers will also be able to buy tickets at SECC box office and SECC ticket centre in the St Enoch Centre.
Bailie Liz Cameron, chair of Kelvingrove operators, Culture and Sport Glasgow, said: "To bring the Doctor Who Exhibition to Glasgow for its only Scottish appearance is such a coup.
"These tickets to see Daleks and Cybermen up close will be a must have Christmas Gift for all Doctor Who fans."
She added: "I know it will bring even more people to Kelvingrove to enjoy the museum as millions have done in the past two years."
