Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind goes Glaswegian in YouTube parody

A GROUP of young Glaswegians have become a hit on YouTube with their tongue-in-cheek take on Alicia Keys and Jay-Z’s hit Empire State of Mind.

Calling themselves G20 featuring Mary Hill, they made their music video while taking part in Queens Cross Housing Association’s Youth Employability Programme.

The song, Glasgow State of Mind, was developed over eight one-hour workshop sessions with Blue Sheep Music, during which the members learned how to use production software and took part in singing sessions and song-writing workshops.
