BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT sensation Susan Boyle is being lined-up to sing for the Pope as part of the Open Mass organised for Bellahouston Park.
The Scottish spinster, who shot to worldwide fame during the 2009 ITV talent contest, was already on the wish list of church leaders, who said she would be a "great asset" to the events planned for the Pontiff's visit.
Pope Benedict XVI will hold an open Mass at the south side venue during his first visit to Scotland in September, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
And a spokesman for the Catholic Church in Scotland said: "Negotiations are still under way but we expect Susan Boyle to perform as part of the Papal Mass at Bellahouston Park."
It will be the first Papal visit to Britain since 1982 when Pope John Paul II's six-day tour drew huge crowds. It will also be the first official Papal visit to Britain, as the 1982 trip was a pastoral one.
Pope Benedict XVI will visit between September 16 and 19. He will be received by the Queen, who is Supreme Governor of the Church of England, and the Duke of Edinburgh at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh on September 16.
