Lights, camera and... award!

The Glasgow Film Festival has announced an award for Fmlmakers. The award, named after the pioneering Scottish artist Filmmaker Margaret Tait (1918-1999), will support artists working with lm and video.

Organisers hope the award will provide a high pro le platform from which to exhibit their work. The recipient will receive a £10,000 commission to make a new work for Glasgow Film Festival 2011. The Margaret Tait Award is inspired by the wealth of talent emerging from Scotland within this field and aims to raise the profile of the many arts organisations who support this area of work. Deadline for nominations is 5 February.
