STUDENTS are trying to raise £20,000 for two cancer charities in memory of their pal who died from the disease.
Allister Boyd was just 20 when he passed away in April after being diagnosed in 2005.
He spent his last years tirelessly fund-raising for Teenage Cancer Trust and CLIC Sargent.
Now friends at Glasgow Caledonian University Students' Association are hosting a charity ball in his memory.
Dad Robert said: "It's great to know Allister's influence is continuing to have an impact in the university and beyond."
The ball takes place tonight at the Saltire Centre.
