SWPL: Glasgow City swoop to sign Rangers top scorer ahead of Euro campaign

GLASGOW CITY have bolstered their squad with a double signing swoop ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Ashley McDonald and Jennifer Callaghan both made scoring debuts in a win over Falkirk last weekend to strengthen their defence of their Premier League title.

The arrival of McDonald has been welcomed by head coach Eddie Wolecki Black who insists she’s a crucial building block for the season ahead.

He said: “Ashley was a player I have been aware of for a few seasons now. We looked to bring her to the club a year ago, however it never materialised due to different reasons.

“However this year when we discovered she was unattached we made our move and are delighted she has joined us.

“Ashley will give us great width and pace. I’m sure she’ll also chip in with a few goals as she did against Falkirk.

“I am looking forward to seeing her once she has had a few months of training and playing at this club.”

Callaghan joins from Rangers where she was top scorer this season.
