Queen's Park ace Ian Watt eyes play-off glory at the fourth time of asking

QUEEN'S PARK striker Ian Watt insists he's due some promotion joy after helping the Spiders secure a third division play-off spot.

Watt may be just 23-years-old but he's already a veteran of the play offs having been involved in the end of season promotion scrap for the last three season's running.

On each of those occasions Gardner Speirs' side have fallen at the semi final stage.

But Watt, who scored the second in Saturday's 2-0 win over rivals Annan Athletic, is convinced this year could finally herald some joy.

He said: "We've always come up short in the play-offs.

"I've been involved in them every year I've been here and we've never got through to the final.

"This time I'm hoping we can go two better. First, getting to the final, then going up. I think we have a good chance."

Queen's secured their place in the play-offs on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Annan at Hampden - a result which blew a huge hole in Harry Cairney's side's hopes of joining them in the four-way promotion battle.

Jamie Longworth headed home a Paul McGinn cross after half an hour to set the Spiders on their way and Watt sealed victory on 72 minutes when Tony Quinn set him up inside the box to shoot past Alex Mitchell.
