Queen's Park latest: Quinn extends stay but Lachlan ruled out

STRIKER Paul Quinn has extended his loan deal at Queen's Park for a further month.

The St Mirren teenager has been a hit since moving to Hampden for competitive football experience and has struck two goals in six appearances.

Quinn, 19, has added strength to the Queen's frontline since arriving at Hampden in October initially on a one month loan deal but that was extended four weeks ago and has been lengthened again until January.

He said: "Queen's Park have got me playing in a first team environment, in front of fans with pressure to get points to mount a promotion push and that is fantastic development that I would not have got if I did not take this opportunity."

Meanwhile promising teenage midfielder Gavin Lachlan is set for a spell on the sidelines after breaking a metatarsal bone.

The 19-year-old - who scored the decisive goal in the club's Scottish Amateur Cup final victory in May - has made three appearances for the first team since stepping up from the youths this season.

Queen's boss Gardner Speirs said: "Gavin was beginning to establish himself in the first team squad so we are all hoping he is not out for too long."
