Queen's Park loan star Paul Quinn loves being a Hampden hero

ON LOAN St Mirren striker Paul Quinn says he is relishing ever minute of his Hampden Experience with Queen's Park.

Quinn netted his second goal for the Spiders - his first at the National Stadium - in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Livingston.

And the 19-year-old admits the experience of playing in a competitive environment in front of the small band of diehard Spiders fans is more help to his career than languishing in the SPL side's reserves.

He said: "Queen's Park have got me playing in a first team environment, in front of fans with pressure to get points to mount a promotion push and that is fantastic development that I would not have got if I did not take this opportunity.

"At my age it is important to get games and with the quality of strikers St Mirren have it was hard to break into the starting eleven.

"Getting on the substitutes bench in the first team has been great but it is very important to play."

The bustling frontman is proud to have added his name to the illustrious list of Hampden goalscorers. Anyone who witnessed his ecstatic reaction to nodding home against Livi would know that!

Quinn added: "It means a lot to me to score at Hampden, as there has been a lot of great strikers that have done that and I am glad to have joined them."
