QUEEN'S PARK boss Gardner Speirs says he will use this weekend's trip to Largs to cast his eye over a handful of trialists.
Among the group is former fans' favourite Frankie Carroll who has been training with the Spiders since the start of pre-season after a two-year hiatus from the game.
Speirs will also check out a mystery goalkeeper in his bid to find competition for current No.1 Zander Cowie.
The Spiders face Blue Square North side Fleetwood Town at their Inverclyde National Sports Centre base on Saturday and new signing Robert Walker is expected to play some part in the game.
The ex-Albion Rovers and Dumbarton centre back became Speirs' fourth summer signing on Wednesday, following on from Michael Daly, Fergus Tiernan and Chris Hamilton.
And Speirs is happy with the way his squad is shaping up.
"That's us up to 20 signed players now," he said.
"I was pleased to bring Robert on board as we felt we needed to strengthen in that area - particularly as our experienced defenders Stevie Reilly and Richard Sinclair missed large chunks of last season through injury.
"If those lads can stay injury free this season then we will have some valuable experience in that area.
"We have brought in more experienced guys across the side - but I would hope that isn't at the expense of footballing ability.
"We have added four players so far and I would like to think there will be another few before the season starts.
"Chris Hamilton is one who will excite as he likes to beat his man and get crosses into the box.
"Then we have Michael Daly who, we know, likes to get on the end of crosses.
"Fergus has played at a high level and brings bags of experience and now we also have Robert on board.
"We will be looking at a few more players in the coming weeks but we are getting close to having a full squad."
