Deadline day: Iain Flannigan exits Partick Thistle as Johnny Lindsay joins Brechin City on loan

TWO players left Partick Thistle on the final day of the January transfer window today but there was little in the way of movement in the other direction.

Winger Iain Flannigan was released from his contract by mutual consent while defender Johnny Lindsay, pictured, is heading to Brechin City on loan or the remainder of the season.

Ex-Kilmarnock player Flannigan, whose contract was due to expire in the summer, has struggled to hold down a first team position with the Jags this season and has been freed to allow him to find regular action.

Lindsay, a summer signing from St Johnstone, has very much been a bit part player since moving from Perth and will spend the next four months at second division strugglers Brechin.

McNamara, who has brought in Rangers duo Darren Cole and Kal Naismith on loan this month, said the club would not be making any late moves in the transfer window.
