Maxwell: Tough night ahead for Partick Thistle against Morton

PARTICK THISTLE assistant Ian Maxwell has warned the Jags to beware of a Morton backlash in tonight's first division clash at Cappielow.

The Greenock men were hammered 4-0 on their own turf by rampant Queen of the South on Saturday and are set to take the field in front of their disgruntled fans again just three days later.

The pressure is on Allan Moore's players to make it up to their fans tonight.

And Maxwell knows the weekend result will only serve to make Ton a dangerous proposition.

He said: "We faced Cowdenbeath after they lost 4-0 to Dunfermline and they came out fighting. I would imagine Morton will be the same."

Thistle go into the match with no fresh injury concerns and welcome defender Willie Kinniburgh back from injury.
