Partick Thistle ace Liam Buchanan targets Highland fling

Liam Buchanan

LIAM BUCHANAN has urged his Partick Thistle team mates to get back on the win trail at Inverness this weekend and prove to the Firhill faithful they have character.

Thistle’s promotion hopes took a heavy dent with consecutive defeats to Fife duo Raith Rovers and then Dunfermline in the past fortnight.

Last Saturday’s second half capitulation in the 4-1 defeat to the Pars was particularly painful and Ian McCall’s men are desperate to bury that memory when they head to the Highlands.

Thistle produced arguably their best attacking performance of the season on their last trip north, winning 3-2 with Buchanan notching a brace.

And a repeat performance would thrust the Jags right back into the thick of the title fight.

Buckie said: “Everyone was gutted with what happened against Dunfermline and we know it really wasn’t good enough.

“It is the first time we have lost back to back games this season and the manner in which we did was unacceptable.

“What we have to do now is to go to Inverness and show some real character.”
