IAN McCall is praying his patched-up defence can put up the shutters against Morton and help Partick Thistle banish the memory of Saturday's defeat to Ross County.
Thistle will again be without the injured Ian Maxwell for Tuesday night's Cappielow clash which is expected to beat the big freeze.
And Maxwell's central defensive partner Marc Twaddle is suspended for the match following his red card against County.
McCall will likely throw Willie Kinniburgh in from the start to replace Twaddle as the ex-Motherwell man has overcome a recent virus.
The boss said: " It's good to get back in action so soon after a bad result.
"We were awful on Saturday - a lot of our players just didn't turn up.
"If we want to get back involved in things at the top end of the table then we need to start to put together another good run and sustain it."
Damon Gray is also out of the Morton match but, otherwise, McCall has a full squad to choose from.
