FORMER Hibs, Dunfermline and Airdrie striker Willie Irvine has been named as the new manager of Pollok.
The 46-year-old is a bold appointment by the south siders having spent the last two years in Norway managing lower league side Lillesand.
Lok had sounded out a host of seasoned junior bosses to replace Rab Sneddon, who resigned last month due to work commitments, and ex-Arthurlie boss Frank Lynch was among the favourites to land the job.
But Newlandsfield officials confirmed on Thursday that Irvine - who had spells managing east region sides Sauchie and Bo'ness United - was the man to lead the club forward.
Irvine, who has still to confirm his backroom team, will take control of the team after Saturday's clash with rivals Arthurlie.
