PARTICK THISTLE are celebrating a vital cash windfall after the resurrection of their shirt sponsorship deal with drinks firm Macb.

The Jags were rocked last season when the Glasgow firm pulled the plug on their backing due to financial problems.

But after unveiling a new strip for the upcoming campaign, Firhill chairman David Beattie said: “We are thrilled to have Macb back on board with us this season.

“We built a great relationship with them last year and it speaks volumes that they’ve returned, bigger and stronger, and are continuing to support Partick Thistle.

“Macb are the perfect sponsor because, like us, they are family friendly and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Jags boss Jackie McNamara admits the return of Macb’s financial support will play a major role in his bid to bolster his squad for their upcoming First Division campaign.

He said: “We’ve already signed three new players and been able to offer new deals to some of our boys who were out of contract.

“It’s good to get your business done early but we’re always looking to strengthen the team and the Macb
sponsorship money will go a long way to helping us do that.”

Macb spokesman Ronnie Hayton insists the sponsorship deal will allow the club to progress both on and off the park. He said: “We’re delighted to show just how committed we are to Partick Thistle and their fans.

“We’ve got big plans for Macb and we’re so happy that the Jags are part of them.

“At Macb we believe in being better together, building partnerships that really mean something – not just
writing a cheque and walking away.

“That’s why we’re delighted to be able to offer this support to Partick Thistle to help them fund great
initiatives like Kids Go Free and the Mates Rates season ticket offer.”
