BUSINESS leaders in the city can't be accused of standing still, as they pioneer a new type of business event.
This Friday will see the first 'quick conference' from the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, hosted by TV's Alison Walker.
Being held at the Centre for Contemporary Arts the event, called CROWD, aims to turn the traditional AGM on its head.
It will feature 16 short and sharp addresses from a number of emerging business leaders whose firms have enjoyed recent growth based on the deployment of a wide range of strategies.
Keynote speakers are Airlink Group’s John McGlynn and Tim Wright of Twintangibles.
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce chief executive Stuart Patrick said: “There is nothing quite the same as hearing it from the horse’s mouth, by people who have been there, been passionate about it, tried it, seen it work, seen it fail and ultimately who can help you consider how to take your business forward.
“CROWD has sourced its speakers from the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce membership and they each have just 10 minutes to tell you their story in this new, innovative and interactive event.
"It is our own fresh take on an annual member conference, very much designed by business for business.
"With the CROWD continuing to grow by the day, we’d encourage members to sign up fast."
The event will also feature optional breakout sessions, a selection of user-submitted videos shown on big screens and a 'meet the expert' bar in the shape of five minute one-to-one slots with leading business figures.
