BREL is offering Glaswegian readers the chance to win a three- course meal for two and a bottle of house wine.
The Ashton Lane restaurant is well-known as an ideal stopping point – offering top quality food, specialist beer and regular live entertainment all under one roof.
Big names who have played the Brel stage over the years include Noah and the Whale, Martha Wainwright and Glasvegas.
The bar’s menu looks to have almost as many hits as the artists who have played there, with exciting dishes including carbonnade flamande – beef, bacon, baby onion and Belgian ale stew with frites, vis en frites – the Belgian version of beer-battered fish and chips, and spinach and goat’s cheese pithivier, baked in puff pastry with watercress and hazelnut salad.
Desserts range from classic creme brulee with a praline shortbread to rich dark chocolate mousse cake and apple tart with cinnamon cream.
For your chance to win a meal for two, answer this question:
Brel is named after which singer?
Put your answer, complete with daytime or mobile phone number and address, on a postcard and send it to Brel Competition, The Glaswegian, One Central Quay, Glasgow, G3 8DA.
Entries must be in by Wednesday, May 23. Editor’s decision is final.
