ONE of the most exciting young bands in Scotland are coming to Glasgow this week.
Skerryvore are playing the O2 ABC on Friday to launch their new album, World of Chances.
The Tiree band won Record of the Year at the 2011 Scottish New Music Awards for their debut album.
They are favourites on the music festival circuit, feature in VisitScotland’s current TV advert and have thrilled audiences from Chicago to Shanghai.
Lead singer Alec Dalglish, who last year won the Frankie Miller Songwriter of the Year award, said: “We’re all very excited to be playing in Glasgow.
“For anyone who’s familiar with us, I’d say our sound has drastically evolved – but we’re still maintaining our strong ceilidh elements.
“Everyone in the band has their own influences and that’s reflected in the music, so there’s something for
everyone.”
Tickets cost £12.50.
