Alfie Moore brings police humour to Glasgow's Stand

ALFIE Moore has two careers that make him an ideal visitor to Glasgow – policeman and comic.

After 18 years with Humberside Police and five years doing stand-up routines, Alfie, below, has more than a few stories to tell.

His latest tour, I Predicted A Riot, comes to The Stand in Glasgow on May 21. It’s all about the history of protest and riots, including some he’s been involved in.

Alfie runs from the Nika riot in 532AD to the May Day riots in 1517 and right up to last summer’s English riots, looking at the causes and what it feels like to be on the other side of the riot shield.

Alfie was born and raised in Sheffield and has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and supported stars including Sarah Millican, Russell Kane and Milton Jones on their tours. He has also appeared in BBC3’s Bizarre Crime.

Tickets cost £8. Visit www.alfiemoore.com or www.thestand.co.uk for more info.
