IT was all hands on deck yesterday, as the Krankies and John Barrowman took charge of the SV Glenlee.

The star trio were getting their sea legs in preparation for their Christmas panto, Robinson Crusoe And The Caribbean Pirates, due to open at the SECC in December.

Much-loved comedy duo the Krankies play Captain Crusoe and Jimmy Crusoe in the pantomine, a return to the stage for the pair after a summer sabbatical.

Asked how they prepared for the forthcoming show, Janette Krankie said: "We are going to the gym because we haven't done a summer season."

Husband Ian spoke of his frustration at the Scottish weather, saying: "We've had the first summer off in 45 years and it's rained every day, so we thought we'd better keep active and joined the gym."

Ian also revealed some of the details of the new production.

He said: "We've got a 30-foot sea monster that goes right into the audienceandwe'vegotthe3D,ofcourse, aswellasunderwaterpirates.Therewill be lots of surprises."

Barrowman, who plays the panto's title role of Robinson Crusoe, added: "I appreciate people are spending hardearned money to see us but don't wait, because our shows sell out."

The pantomime runs from Saturday, December 17 to Saturday, January 7 at the SECC Clyde Auditorium.
