Homecoming Final Fling
THE SECC hosts one of the greatest ever gatherings of Scottish musicians this weekend when the Year of Homecoming reaches a blistering crescendo with the 'Final Fling'.
The gig - spread over three venues - will fuse the best Scotland has to offer on the contemporary scene including The View, Idlewild, Teenage Fanclub and the hotly tipped Twin Atlantic with the sound of the nation's musical heritage from artists such as Eddie Reader and Dougie MacLean.
In between there will be some classic tunes from Deacon Blue, pictured, The Skids and Hue and Cry.
Never before will St Andrew's Day weekend have sounded so good and what better place to host the celebrations than Glasgow - UNESCO City of Music.
Promoter Geoff Ellis of DF Concerts said: "Homecoming Live - The Final Fling is about bringing people back home to celebrate Scotland and its music scene as well as giving them the opportunity to be part of once in a lifetime experience.
"Music lovers will be able to join with family and friends to relive past memories and create new ones - all to a unique soundtrack, accompanied by some of the best culinary delights the country has to offer.
"Scotland is renowned for producing and nourishing talent and many great bands have formed on its shores - Im really looking forward to what promises to be a very special and unique weekend of music."
The Final Fling opens at 4pm with the first acts on stage at 5pm. For more information visit: www.homecomingscotland2009.com/whats-on
